The Challenges

Professionals in the nonprofit and social impact sector have long tackled society's most critical challenges - from protecting our environment to defending human rights to maintaining our social safety net.

Not surprisingly, the term “burnout” was first coined for the social sector in the 1970s (read more). In fact, the State of Nonprofits 2024 (CEP) reported that, 95% of nonprofit leaders were concerned about staff and their own burnout. And that was back in 2024.

Nowadays, the entire sector is feeling the far-reaching impact of federal grant and funding cuts, slashed corporate philanthropy, job uncertainty and a rough and competitive job market.

And, on top of that, we have the ruthless attacks on the nonprofit, social justice, NGO and international development and exchange sectors, including their foundational values and the communities they serve.

Unfortunately being chronically under stress and burnout can lead to lower quality of life and mental health issues including depression and anxiety, sleep disturbances and physiological reactions that can increase risk for chronic illness. In addition to long-term implications for individuals, burnout hurts their organizations too.

Allied for Wellbeing was created for the dedicated professionals and organizations who have committed their time, talents, hearts and lives to this courageous and important work.

Allied for Wellbeing is a group experience that integrates evidence-based practices with practical strategies to enhance both individual and collective wellbeing and impact.

About Allied for Wellbeing

Allied for Wellbeing is an invitation to take a pause, to be guided, and to tune into what’s most important. It’s about the person behind the professional.

Sessions provide structured intentional time to recharge, rest and reflect with time to connect with colleagues and integrate insights.

Guided group sessions provide dedicated time and space for participants to pause, restore, reflect and create a plan that supports growth and thriving.
